Stormy weather in the Philippines

Stormy weather in the Philippines

It is the rain season, one typhoon warning after another tropical storm notification is given by Dost-Pagasa. And forceful winds beat up the coasts of this Archipelago. Some areas are more effected than others, like the north of Luzon is under heavy weather these last few weeks. But also east of Mindanao gets it pretty bad as do Samar en Leyte (again) Traveling in the rain season and using public transport is always a challenge. Will the bus make it…

Bus trip from Sipalay to Dumaguete

Bus trip from Sipalay to Dumaguete

Time to move on. Time to renew my visa. So I’m on my way to Dumaguete. Jamont Hotel (former Sipalay Suites), the hotel where I’m staying in Sipalay, is right opposite of the Ceres Busstation. So I can walk to my bus. I have a choice: take the 4.15 AM Air Con bus to Dumaguete or travel with liners all my way around the south point of Negros Occidental and Oriental. I choose for the liner option. Although I once…

One minute video channel

On YouTube you can subscribe to my One Minute Video Channel. It shows daily life in the Philippines in it’s purest form. From sunsets to an average weekday at a market place, a working day for roadbuilders, you name it, I will film it. The ‘One Minute’- concept is a better concept for both viewers and maker. Since the internet is slow, it sometimes takes up to half an hour to upload a one minute video. From a viewers point…

A Friday Afternoon in Sipalay City

A Friday Afternoon in Sipalay City

Sipalay City is a wide stretched city. On a friday afternoon I was sitting in a restaurant next to the public market and I filmed my street-view. This one minute video gives a good impression of how daily life in Sipalay is. Easy going, lay-back, quiet….not much traffic, people going about their business and everything seems quite relaxed. Do not forget to subscribe to this blog! You get an email once it is updated.

Moving on from paradise to paradise in Sipalay

Moving on from paradise to paradise in Sipalay

After the misfit with Bacolod city I entered paradise at Punta Ballo. The resorts there have beautiful white sand beaches and the coral reef creates a lagoon, with calm clear and blue water filled with fish, starfish and crabs. Moving from paradise to paradise I love the resort. If you are looking for a holiday in paradise this it the place to go. Little downsides for me are that there is little diversity in guests and there are many rules. Great…
