FJ Manila Hotel, Legazpi City

FJ Manila Hotel, Legazpi City

The first thing I need to set straight about this hotel is that it is NOT in Legazpi city. It is close to Legazpi, but it is a long jeepney ride to Legazpi itself. Legazpi offers lots of restaurants and malls and is a nice place to stay. FJ Manila Hotel offers an affordable place close enough to enjoy all that. The standard rooms are just right and for those looking for a little more space there are rooms with…

Red Koi Residences, Sorsogon City

Red Koi Residences, Sorsogon City

Red Koi Residences is by far out one of the nicest and cleanest places I have stayed in the Philippines. The introvert build hotel offers a quiet hideaway in the busy city of Sorsogon. Walking distance from the city center, this newly build boutique hotel offers the luxury a travellers seeks. Rooms start just a little under 1700 pesos and for that you get a lot of fluffy towels, nice hot shower and good mattress and pillows. Plenty of amenities…

Carmel Inn, Catarman, Samar

Carmel Inn, Catarman, Samar

I would not have missed it although it was a challenge. Steep climbs and narrow curves and a long slippery descent. You go through the chickens intestines I believe the…

A visit to Batangas Public Market

A visit to Batangas Public Market

Living in Puerto galera means: traveling to Batangas every now and then. With the bankas leaving from Muelle there is a good connection to Luzon Island and Batangas is the gateway to Manila as well. Hop on a bus and within 3 hours you enter the metropolis. Batangas offers just a little more than Calapan on Mindoro does. SM Mall for example, with a lot more variety on shops. But also the city center is fun to roam around. I…
